Building Hope: Supporting Overgate Hospice’s Big Build

Overgate Hospice is Up North Runway's chosen charity and they are appearing in our Emerging Designer show on the 5th November at the Halifax Minster to showcase pre-loved fashion that is readily available across their 17 charity shops.

For over forty years, Overgate Hospice in Elland has been a beacon of compassion, care and dignity for the people of Calderdale. Every day, its dedicated team provides free specialist palliative care and emotional support for patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses.

Now, Overgate is embarking on its most ambitious project yet — The Big Build — a transformational plan to expand and modernise the hospice so even more people can receive the care they deserve.

What The Big Build Means

The Big Build will create a new, purpose-built hospice designed around comfort, privacy, and community. It will offer more inpatient beds, improved facilities for outpatients and families, and spaces that truly feel like home. This redevelopment ensures that Overgate can meet the rising demand for palliative care in Calderdale for decades to come.
